Mrs. Lucille E. Kuehn, 97, of 185 Bradley St., died at 8 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2000, at home, of natural causes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Kuehn formerly worked for two years at Renier's music store.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1902, in Dubuque, daughter of Carl and Josephine (Schmitt) Jungk.
She married Dr. Joseph J. Locher on Sept. 24, 1925, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he died Feb. 8, 1961. She later married Archie T. "Slim" Kuehn on May 7, 1967, at St. Joseph's Church, Dubuque; he died Aug. 23, 1991.
She attended two years of business college and was a graduate of the Dubuque School of Music. She was Jerry of "Jerry and her Vioni Orchestra" in Dubuque and traveled the midwest playing at dance halls and ballrooms and county fairs for five years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn A. (Melvin) Holubar, of Marion, Iowa; three sons, Dr. Joseph C. (Joan Monica) Locher, of Dubuque, Richard E. "Dick" (Mary) Locher, of Naperville, Ill., and Dr. Robert J. (Carol) Locher, of Boulder, Colo.; 19 grandchildren, children of Dr. Joseph: Cheryl (Don) Moonen , James, Jeffrey, Joseph, Jason, Jon (Deb), Maria (Greg) Claus and Michelle; children of Richard: Steven (Sandy), John, deceased, Jana (Stephen) Ritter; children of Carolyn: Ronald (Mary) Candace (Mark), Bonnie, Kathleen (Oscar) Sanchez, Robert (Jennifer); children of Robert: Lori (Adam) Goodman, Andrew (Trish) and Edward; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian Feller, of Dubuque; and a brother, Julius Jungk, of Dubuque.
She also was preceded in death by a grandson, John Locher in 1986; a sister, Florence Jungk; and four brothers, Clarence, Arthur, Walter and James; and an infant son, James.
In lieu of flowers, Lucille would be pleased to have memorials made to St. Mary's and St. Patrick Education Fund, 1425 Iowa St., Dubuque, Iowa 52001.
