Joseph Boll Chilton Times January 7, 1888

Died, at his home in this city on Thursday morning, January 4th, Mr. Joseph Boll. The deceased was born in Obenburg, Bavaria, Germany, March 19th, 1821. Came to America in 1852 and settled in the town of Russell, Sheboygan county, when that county was a dense wilderness. He remained there until the fall of 1866 when he moved to his county and located on a farm 2 ½ miles south of this city in the town of Brothertown. He was a hard working and industrious man and succeeded in making his farm one of the finest in the county. In 1844 he disposed of his farm and moved to this city, where he and his aged and loving wife have lived a happy and contented life up to about three months ago when his health began to fail him.
He was loved and respected by all who knew him for his generosity, kindness to neighbors and friends, and devotion to his wife and children. He leaves a wife, three sons, and four daughters; Erasmus, who resides in Brothertown, Frank and Anton who reside in Dakota, Mrs. Wm Ester, Mrs. F. J. Egerer and Miss Annie Boll of this city, and Mrs. Kreidler of Dakota to mourn his loss.
The funeral will take place on Sunday from the St. Mary's church of which he was a devout member.
