Carl was the son of Nicolai and Bridt (Aune) Hawkinson.
Obituary, Dunn County News, Feb 11, 1915:
"Carl Alfred, the 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholi Hawkinson of North Menomonie died suddenly Friday of pneumonia after an illness of but three days. He attended school up to three days of his death and was around the house, even doing an errand the day before his death. The funeral services were held at the house at 1:30 and from the church at 2 o'clock, Rev. P. A. Dietrichson officiating. Interment was made in the Halvorsen cemetery. The deceased is survived by his parents, three brothers and three sisters."
