"Orval Vanderhoof Dies Following Long Illness - Orval Vanderhoof, aged nearly 63 years, well known resident of the Spartansburg community for many years, died at 2:20 pm yesterday at his home, after a long illness from cancer. He was born November 29, 1877. He leaves the following children: Lawrence and Melvin Vanderhoof and Mrs Clifford Long of Corry, Mrs Clement Darling of Franklin, Mrs Walter Fink and Mrs Theodore Swanson of Jamestown, NY, Mrs Rudolph Silvis of Spartansburg and Miss Eva Vanderhoof at home. He also leaves his aged father, J R Vanderhoof of Spartansburg, twelve grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Herman Vanderhoof, RD, Titusville; Leroy and Clement Vanderhoof of RD, Spartansburg; Guy Vanderhoof, RD, Lottsville; Clarence Vanderhoof, Mrs Miller Davison, Mrs Carl Highby (sic) and Miss Amelia Vanderhoof of Corry, and Mrs George Stockton of Ashtabula, O. Services will be conducted from the home of the daughter, Mrs Clifford Long, in Corry, at 1 pm Sunday, followed by services in the Spartansburg Baptist church at 1:40 pm, with interment in Rose Hill cemetery."
