"Myrtle Vanderhoof, aged 13 years, daughter of Mr and Mrs Orvy Vanderhoof of Fish Flats, died at the Corry hospital on Nov 3, following an operation for a diseased bone in one of her feet. The operation was performed on Oct 29, but the girl was in such a weakened condition from long suffering that she did not rally. The remains were brought to the family home on Tuesday and the funeral was conducted from the Spartansburg Baptist church on Wednesday afternoon, the pastor, Rev M M Clark, officiating. The interment was in Rose Hill cemetery at Spartansburg."
