Rainey's original burial place was Roberts Chapel Church Cemetery, which was located on CR-1123 just north of the current Butner NC location. When the Army took over the land to create Camp Butner in 1942 most of the area graves were moved to Community Memorial Gardens. If you come across a death certificate or obit that says burial at Roberts Chapel Cemetery then that person is most likely to have been reburied here, which is northeast of Stem which you have to drive southwest through Stem to get to Butner. Some graves were moved to family or other cemeteries in Granville and Durham counties.

********************************************
Rainey was born in the Tally Ho Township in Granville Co. NC to Adkinson Dowd 'Dow' Weaver & Rutha Moriah 'Ruth' Arnold Weaver .

[Rainey's death certificate shows Ruth's sister, "Katherine Arnold" as his mother, but Rainey was born in 1863 and his father, Dowd, didn't marry Ruth's sister until 1875, after his brother Albert was born & Ruth died in 1874 after giving birth to Rainey's sister Ada. The 1880 census shows Ada in his home with his wife Vesta and his son Henry. I do not know why she was not being raised by Dow and Ruth's sister except that perhaps they both blamed Ada for Ruth's death and did not want her around. I do not understand why Clyde, Rainey oldest child born 1900 who didn't know his grandmother Ruth or step grandmother's Katherine or Susan, would state Katherine was his father's mother].

Rainey married on May 6, 1879 to Sylvester 'Vesta' Mae Roberts, d/o William McKinsie Roberts & Rebecca Noma Parrott.

Rainey and Vesta had 11 children, 1 who was born and died between 1900 & 1910, I have listed and linked the ones I know. If the other one was buried at Roberts Chapel Cemetery then it's grave is lost forever.

Rainey and Vesta's children:
Milton Henry Weaver (17 Feb 1879 - 1938)
Julian Theophelus 'Theo' Weaver (22 Jan 1881 - 1954)
Oscar Merriman Weaver (1883-1937)
Benjamin 'Ben' Weaver (1885-1968)
J. Carter Weaver (1887-1928)
Rebecca Weaver (Jun 1890- bef. 1910)
Josephine 'Josie' Weaver Oakley (1892-1959)
Unknown Weaver (abt 1894 – bef. 1900)
Mary Lucy Weaver Nash (1895-1969)
Leona Frances Weaver Carroll (1898-1982)
Clyde Henry Weaver (25 Nov 1901- aft 1959)
Unknown Weaver (aft 1901 - bef. 1910)

****************************************
Rainey's father "Adkinson D. Weaver" 1st married on Dec. 7th, 1857 in Orange Co. NC to "Rutha Arnold".

John's siblings:
Unknown Weaver (abt 1858)
Thomas E. Weaver (abt 1860)
Raynor W. Weaver (1863-1938)
Albert William Weaver (1864-1936)
?Nalphus Weaver (1867)
Ada Weaver (1874)

Ruth died after giving birth to Ada

"Dow Weaver" 2nd married on October 5th, 1875 in Granville Co. NC to Ruth's sister, "Catherine Arnold". They were the two youngest of seven daughters born to John Henry Arnold & Mary Arnold of Knap of Reeds, Granville Co. NC. Catherine died after giving birth to their daughter "Liza Jane Weaver" born January 1877, who married Charles D. 'Charlie' Hall on August 4, 1887 (she was 10 yrs old claiming to be 15, Her correct age of 23 is shown in the 1900 census)

'Dow Weaver" 3rd married on October 7th, 1877 in Oak Grove, Wake Co. NC to Susana Williams. The license shows Dow's parents as William & Sallie Weaver and both alive residing in Wake Co. NC and Susana's parents were H.P. & Maria Williams (status not indicated). Which indicates her maiden name and married name was the same. She had 4 children before their marriage, Sarah, James, Jasper & William Williams.

Dow and Susana had a daughter, Cora Etta Weaver, who married John Thomas Hall, the brother of Charles D. Hall who married her half-sister Liza Jane and Mary Hall, John's wife. They were the children of William Jefferson Hall & Cornelia Frances Thompson Hall

Susana died before 1900. Dowd was living with his daughter Liza Jane Hall and her husband Charlie in Oak Grove, Durham Co. NC in 1900. He is on line 90 and his name was transcribed as "David Weaver", but the actual photo of the census sheet clearly shows "Dowd Weaver" born "Jan 1834" "WD"{widowed). It also shows Liza & Charlie being married 16 yr which would have made Liza only 7 yrs old when they married. Actually it was only Charlie that had been married 16 yrs. Liza was his 2nd wife.

I have yet to find the death dates and burial location of Dowd or his parents.
