Custer's original burial place was Roberts Chapel Church Cemetery, which was located on CR-1123 just north of the current Butner NC location. When the Army took over the land to create Camp Butner in 1942 most of the area graves were moved to Community Memorial Gardens. If you come across a death certificate or obit that says burial at Roberts Chapel Cemetery then that person is most likely to have been reburied here, which is northeast of Stem which you have to drive southwest through Stem to get to Butner. Some graves were moved to family or other cemeteries in Granville and Durham counties.

Custer was the 5th child and 5th son of Raynor 'Rainey' W. Weaver & Sylvester Mae 'Vesta' Roberts Weaver (only blood sister of my maternal grandfather, McKinzie Patterson Roberts)

The June 1900 census shows him 12 born Dec 1888 but he would turn 13 in December so he was born 1887

The 1910 census shows him 22 born 1888 but he turned 23 in December so he was born 1887

The June 1917 Draft record shows him 29 in 1917 but he turned 30 in December so he was born 1887

The 1920 census is just plain wrong showing him 36 - he was 32 turning 33 in December born 1887

His death certificate is correct - born 1887

Custer, age 21, married on 13 Oct 1908 in Durham NC to Margaret Walker, d/o Ramsey Walker & Frances Eliza Walker

Custer and Margaret had 1 daughter Frances Weaver born 1915 and died before 1917. She is not in the 1920 census and his June 1917 Draft record shows his only dependent was his wife - no children.

Custer lived in Auburn NC and died in the Rex Hospital in Raleigh, Wake Co. NC.

After Custer passed Margaret married Clarence William Wall, s/o Ronnie Lee Wall & Martha Lassiter Wall

Special note: On 12/14/2019 I changed Custer's name from Carter to Custer. To the so called "Genealogist" who gave me misinformation, Thanks a lot! To my Weaver family, I apologize. To Annal, thank you for the links proving his real birth name.
