My 3rd great grandfather, Moses Bates. was born in New Jersey in 1795. He and his wife, Ann, had at least five children; Rebecca Ann Bates, Charles P Bates, Elkanah Harris Bates, Caroline Bates, and Benjamin Franklin Bates. Moses and his family lived in Chester and Cinnaminson which are in Burlington County, New Jersey. He died of Dropsy in May 1860 and was buried in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.
