Avis Vincent, 88 of Bemidji died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Neilson Place in Bemidji, MN.
Memorial Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Northern Bible Church in Bemidji, MN. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the spring at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
She was born on April 6, 1923 in Pinewood, MN the daughter of Walter and Florence (Gillott) Chesborough. She was raised and educated in Bemidji. She married Lloyd Vincent August 17, 1940 in Bemidji. She worked along side her husband farming and logging. She was a homemaker until 1961 when she started working as the head cook for Northern School. In 1965 she started working food service at Bemidji State University for the next 20 years. She was a charter member of Northern Bible Church. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes, sewing wedding dresses and being a seamstress. She was a prize winning bread maker and loved raising flowers, especially gladiolas. She was there for anyone who needed help.
She is survived by her Son, Ronald (Lorraine) Vincent of Stillwater, MN Daughters, Patricia (John) Shrefler of Florence, AZ Linda (Dan) Erie of Vancouver, WA Rita Vincent of Bemidji 6 Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Grandchildren Sisters, Virginia Jolson of Tucon, AZ Joanne Thaemert of Centuria, WI
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Dexter.
