Mr. John Calvin "J.C." Thomas, Jr., 75, died Sunday morning (March 18, 2012) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

He was a native and life-long resident of Brantley County until making his home in Baptist Village Retirement Communities for the past several years. He attended Hoboken School and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Thomas enjoyed working on the family farm and being in the outdoors.

He was the son of the late John Calvin Thomas, Sr. and Beatrice Lucas Thomas. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Waters, Elvera Thomas Booth, and Agnes Thomas Dixon, and two brothers, William Troy Thomas and James Pomeroy "Roy" Thomas.

Survivors include a brother, Clyde Thomas (wife Jackie) of Brantley County; a sister-in-law, Mary Thomas of Brantley County; a brother-in-law, George Waters of Waycross and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday (March 20, 2012) at Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Music Funeral Home.
