"T/4 James M. Bottle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bottle of Smithville Flats, arrived in Greene, December 27, honorably discharged from the service.
He entered the service Mar. 19, 1943, and received basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark.
He received further training at Fort Lawton, Wash., and Camp Stoneman, Calif.
He left for overseas, June 1944, on the U.S.A. Hospital Ship Marigold and served in three theaters of operation, traveling about 100,000 miles during this time."
