A lifelong resident of Nuckolls County, Edith received her formal education attending rural school near Oak. In 1930, the family moved to the community where she graduated from high school. On September 14, 1941 she was united in marriage with Care A. Rausher. This union was blessed with daughter, Virginia and son, Bill. They made their home on the farm southeast of Nelson.
Edith was a member of tne Nelson Community Church of Christ. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and growing her flowers. She was happiest at home baking, cooking and caring for her household. Edith's love for her family was immeasurable and she chersihed the time they spent together. Her husband, Clare, died in 1980. She remained at home until 2010, when she moved to Council Bluffs to be near to daughter.
Preceding her in death were: parents; husband, Clare Rausher; son, Bill Rausher; her twin sister, Ethel, who died shortly after their birth; and two granddaugthers.
Left to treasure her memory are: daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Ed Lynch of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Leita Rausher of Liberal, Kansas; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Reed of Courtland, Kansas; brother, John W. Adams and wife Wanda of Superior, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Reeve of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and Elsie Grummert and husband Eldrick of Nelson, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, NE.
