Sylvia J. "Sue" Cozart, 89, a resident of West Lafayette, Ind., former resident of Stonefort, died Monday, May 25, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, Ind.
She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Carrier Mills to Roy and Pearl (Thompson) Murphy. She married the Rev. Norman Cozart, who preceded her in death on June 29, 2004.
She was a member of the Social Brethren Church of Carrier Mills.
She is survived by two sons, Henry (Rosemary) Cozart of Carrier Mills and Clifford (Rhonda) Cozart of West Lafayette, Ind.; one brother, Jack Murphy of Michigan; one sister, Sally Shanks of Milford; three grandchildren, Jimmy (Teressa) Cozart, Alana (Ben) Suttles and Rachael Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Ridge Cozart, Audriella Jackson and Rylan Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
Visitation is 9 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church with the Rev. Hubert Bradley and the Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers to the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is entrusted with arrangements.
