The Rev. Norman O. Cozart
The Rev. Norman O. Cozart, 80, a former resident of Stonefort, died 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2004, at Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church with the Rev. Hubert Bradley and the Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the church. Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Ledford to the late Oliver and Cordelia (Wriston) Cozart. On April 27, 1944, he married the former Sylvia "Sue" Murphy, who survives.
He was a retired construction worker and minister. He was pastor of several Social Brethren churches in this area and a member of Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church. He was also a member of operating engineers Local No. 318.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry (Rosemary) Cozart of Carrier Mills and Clifford (Rhonda) Cozart of West Lafayette, Ind.; three grandchildren, Jimmy (Teresa) Cozart, Alana Cozart and Rachel Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan and Ridge Cozart and Aubriella Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Memorials may be made to the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church in lieu of flowers.
