GLASS
Dr. Harvey Glass, One of the Most Prominent Ministers In Kentucky Passes Away After Long Illness.
Dr. Harvey Glass, one of the most widely known and best loved Presbyterian ministers in Kentucky, passed away, yesterday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home of Miss Laura Downton on Broadway, where Dr. Glass had been residing for several months. Dr. Glass had been in declining health for several months and his condition had recently become critical. He was seventy-eight years of age and had been a minister in the Southern Presbyterian church prior to his retirement six years ago. He was born and reared at Taylorsville in Spencer County and his first pastorate was at Providence Church near McAfee in Mercer County. An unusual coincidence was that his last pastorate was also at Providence. On May l8th, 1869, Dr. Glass was united in marriage to Miss Sue Downton, of this city. She died in 1915. Dr. Glass served for number of years as pastor of the Presbyterian churches at Richmond, Cynthiana and Somerset. He is survived by two children, Dr. Gilbert Glass, of Richmond, Virginia, and Miss Mary Glass, of Danville. The funeral will be held at 3 o "clock tomorrow afternoon in the First Presbyterian church, followed by burial in Bellevue cemetery, this city.
