Cathryn "Katie" Danielson, 78, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at HCA Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born May 31, 1919, at Russell, the daughter of Adam D. and Amelia (Strecker) Schmidt. She married Dale H. Danielson on July 23, 1957, at Clayton, NM. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1992. She spent her life in the Russell community. She was a graduate of Russell High School and worked for the Danielson family in the operation of the local theaters. She and her husband owned and managed the theaters in Russell until July of 1982, when the retired. She was associated with St. John Lutheran Church at Russell. She was a member of the VFW Aux. and the Russell Regional Hospital Aux., but of Russell, and of the MO/KS Theaters Owners Assoc.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy L. Blevins. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Anderson, Russell, and Gladys Ann Hawkins, Osawatomie, KS; and one brother, Gerald W. Schmidt, Topeka.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tues. Dec. 2, at Pohlman's Mortuary with Rev. Michael Fibranz officiating. Burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Pohlman's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
