Her home was the site of the 1st court of Stanly County in 1841, with her son Eben being the 1st Sheriff of Stanly County at the same time, serving 1841-1844. A listing was received from the current Stanly County Sheriff (Rick Burris) in 2011 verifying Ebenezer Hearne as the 1st Sheriff.
