THE SPRINGFIELD DAILY NEWS - Wednesday April 10, 1935

Addison Parker Bodurtha, 70, a descendant of one of the earliest families to settle in Springfield, died suddenly last night at his home. He had been a resident of this city for 40 years, moving to Longmeadow about 15 years ago.
He was a former member of the Republican city committee and had served as a clerk at the Jefferson Avenue polling place.
He had been employed for 38 years by the Springfield Glazed Paper Company until his retirement two years ago.
For 37 years he had been a member of the Springfield Knights of Pythias, having served as a past deputy grand chancellor of the order.
He was born February 16, 1865, in Agawam, the son of Jerre Almon and Helen (Gibbs) Bodurtha. At the age of about 15 he moved with his family to Springfield. He leaves his widow, Mrs Addie (Dunham) Bodurtha; two sons Earl N. of this city and Donald A. of Longmeadow; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the Byron funeral parlors Friday afternoon, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Robert Bartlett will officiate.
