Donald A. Bodurtha, 83, of 705 Sumner Ave., died Saturday in Mercy Hospital.
He was in charge of maintenance at Municipal Hospital, retiring in 1977. He was also employed at the old Third National Bank Building for 23 years.
Born and educated in Springfield, he was a graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School.
He also lived in Longmeadow for 16 years, returning to Springfield many years ago.
He was a direct descendant of Reice Bodurtha who first settled in Springfield in 1645. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
He leaves his wife, the former Edna Boulris; a daughter, Jan Markham of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday morning in Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening.
