ELLENBURG — Beatrice Dumas, 94, formerly of Ellenburg died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at the Clinton County Nursing Home, Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born in Malone, N.Y., on June 23, 1917, she was the daughter of Edgar and Flora Lash LaClair. She was married to Francis Dumas on May 27, 1939, in St. Edmund's Church, Ellenburg. He predeceased her on April 29, 1995. In her early years, Mrs. Dumas was employed at the Ribbon Mill, Plattsburgh and The Governor's Motor Inn, Albany. She was a communicant of St. Edmund's Church, Ellenburg and a member of the Catholic Daughters and Altar and Rosary Society. She was a hard working woman, a great cook and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her family. Mrs. Dumas is survived by four grandchildren and their spouses, Ross and MaryEllen Dumas of West Chazy, Terry and Carmel Dumas of Ellenburg Center, Penny Prentice and her companion, Jim Daniels of Tennessee, Susan and Jason Trombly of Rouses Point, eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Ross and Roger Dumas; several brothers and sisters. Calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at St. Edmund's Church, Ellenburg. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Edmund's Church with the Rev. Ted Crosby officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Clinton County Nursing Home. Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
