LaClair, Donald F. - White Haven, Pa. — Donald F. LaClair, 69, of White Haven, Pa., died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at his home. He was born in Ellenburg, July 28, 1928, the son of Edgar and Flora (Lash) LaClair. Mr. LaClair was employed through the Brotherhood Union of Operating Engineers of Newark as a driller and foreman on several large projects, including the St. Lawrence Seaway, Niagara Falls Power Project, Spruce Run Reservoir and Yard's Creek. Later he was employed by D.F. Well Drilling Co. of Netcong and for the past 17 years with Truck Stops of America in Columbia, N.J., in the maintenance department. Mr. LaClair moved from Knowlton Township, Pa., in 1987 to Bartonsville, Pa., and later to White Haven, Pa. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Catherine (Powers) LaClair; two sons and daughters- in-law, Alan and Sherry LaClair of Columbia, N.J., and Stephen and Peg LaClair of Belvidere, N.J.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Albert Drayson of Columbia, N.J.; a brother, Roy LaClair of White Haven; three sisters, Rita Tourville of Plattsburgh, Irene Trombley of Plattsburgh and Beatrice Dumas of Ellenburg Center; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Leona Charette and Florence Charette, died earlier. A funeral liturgy was held Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Blairstown, N.J. Burial took place in Hainesburg Cemetery in Knowlton Township, N.J. Press-Republican, August 23, 1997
