Her obituary which appeared in the Crowley Signal, Saturday, November 4, 1922 reads: RUBY ELLA ATKINSON – Ruby Ella Atkinson, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. F. Atkinson, died at her home October 19. She was ten years of age and had always been an invalid. While unable to attend school, she loved to go to Sunday school and united with the M.E. Church a few months ago. She is missed at home and by all her loved ones, but "she has gone to that home where no pain nor sorrow ever comes".
