A veteran of the United States Army, he served in Germany during World War II. Retired after 25 years of service from John Manville in Rockdale. He was very active in local area Cubs Scout and Boy Scout Troops. A longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survived by his son, Gary L. Adams of Joliet, IL; one sister, Lillian Lee Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruby L. (nee Etter) Adams (2011); his son, Gerald L. Adams; his parents, Charles W. and Cora Adams; brothers Thomas, Leonard, Raymond, Harold, Jimmy and Cecil Adams; and sisters Ruth and Viola Adams, Evelyn Harney, Opal Bauswell, Thelma Stewart and Elizabeth Bridges.
Albert L. Adams will lie in state on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1718 Avalon Avenue, Joliet from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Hickok officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
