Harney, Evelyn, Age 84, Formerly of Cressey
Passed away Monday, June 26, 1989 at the Provincial House in Battle Creek. Mrs. Harney was born June 2, 1905 in Scammon, KS. She worked as a telephone operator as a young lady in Harvey and Springfield, IL. She lived for 50 years in the Cressey area. She was a charter member and very active in the fellowship at the Milo Bible Church. She was married to Kenneth Harney June 27, 1927 in Kincaid, IL and he preceded her in death, July 22, 1969. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Louise Watts of Battle Creek; 2 sons, Merl Harney of Gull Lake and Paul Harney of Byron Center, MI; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Thelma Stewart, Mrs. Lillian Jackson, both of Virdin, IL and Mrs. Elizabeth Bridges of Girard, IL; 2 brothers, Harold Adams of San Diego, CA and Albert Adams of Joliet, IL. She was preceded in death by a son, Neil, March 16, 1981 and an infant daughter, Mildred Jean, in 1929. Friends are being received at the Williams Funeral Home in Delton where the family will be present this evening from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Milo Bible Church with Pastor Doug Huntington officiating. Interment Prairieville Cemetery. She desired that memorial contributions be made to the Milo Bible Church.
