SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR HUGH KNOX

Funeral services for Hugh H. Knox, 62, who died Monday, August 2, 1971 were held Wednesday, August 4th at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Vega. Officiating was the Rev. Charles Wyatt, pastor, assisted by Rev. Clyde Cain, pastor of the Avondale Baptist Church in Amarillo.

Mr. Knox was born January 14, 1909 in Rogers, Arkansas and had resided in Vega since 1930 where he was a distributor for the Knox Oil Company. He married the former Dora Kelly in 1929 at Clovis, New Mexico.

Mr. Knox was a member of the First Baptist Church and has serves as a Deacon for several years. He was a member of the Vega Kiwanis club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Decker of Amarillo and Mrs. Phyllis Mohn of Lake Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. Boner Howard, Mrs. Ruth Dodson, Mrs. Bessie Reynolds, all of Amarillo, and Mrs. Terrel Floyd of Clarendon; two brothers, Noel Knox of Portales New Mexico and Willard Knox of Lelia Lake; and five grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of N.S. Griggs & Sons. Burial was in the Vega Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bearers were the Deacons of the church and Mr. Warren Cook of Clovis, New Mexico.

The family requests memorials be to the building fund of the Vega First Baptist Church.

Lunch was served to the family, at noon by the women of the church.
