SERVICES HELD FOR CHARLES RILEY, 87

Charles J. Riley, 87, of Richland, died Tuesday night March 22, 1960 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Archie Horton, Blackstone, Va. He has been spending the winter there and had been ill for two weeks. He was born Jan. 8, 1873 at Rockbridge, Va., the son of John and Mary Deaver Riley.

He married Jessie L. Tolley on June 1, 1898. She died Oct. 20, 1940. On April 24, 1942, he married Alice G. Tolley, sister of the first wife and she died in 1946.

He moved to Richland in 1918 and had lived there since, spending recent winters in Va. He was a carpenter by trade.

His survivors include six daughters; Mrs. Harold Pennock, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. William Cobb, Lacona; Mrs. Raymond Nutting, Syracuse; Mrs. William DeShane and Mrs. Harold Wing, Richland and Mrs. Horton of Blackstone, Va.; a son Elmer Riley, Richland, 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home, Pulaski. The Rev. Robert Murphy, pastor of Richland Methodist church, officiated. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
