The funeral service for Mrs. Bertie A. R. Blackwell, who passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, was held at Emmanuel Church, Mofatts Creek Nov. 15 at eleven o'clock, conducted by the Rev. R. L. St. Clair, assisted by the Rev. J. A. Byrd.

Hymns used were "How Firm Foundation," "Just Inside the Eastern Gate."

Mrs. Blackwell was 72 years of age and made her home with her son, G. R. Blackwell, New Hope road.

She is survived by five sons, Roy L., Dover, Ohio; Hubert L., Fishersville; George R., Staunton Route 3; Charles Leonard Jr., Staunton, Route 2, and Homer A, Philadelphia; four daughters, Mrs. Elsie M. Daugherty, Staunton; Mrs. Lillian Jordan, Sears, Staunton; Mrs. Bertha Wills, Kimball, W. Va.; Mrs. Mary Shaver, Fishersville; one brother, Charles J. Riley, Richland, N. Y.; nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
