OXFORD, N.J. — Catherine T. Laclair, 79, entered into eternal rest at Warren Haven, Oxford, N.J., on Thursday, July 29, 2010, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born Aug. 8, 1930, in Churubusco, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Delia Leclair Powers. Catherine graduated from Chateaugay High School, Chateaugay, N.Y., in 1949. She was employed for many years at American Can Company, Washington, N.J., before moving to Stroudsburg. She was also employed at General Electric in East Stroudsburg and Truckstops of America in Columbia, N.J. She retired from Slate Belt Medical Center in Pen Argyl. Survivors include her loving family, a daughter, Dianne Dayson, and her husband, Albert of Bangor; two sons, Alan and wife, Sherry of Snydersville, Pa., and Stephen and wife, Peggy of Mt. Bethel, Pa.; a sister, Veronica Chatelle of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; a brother, John Powers of Liverpool, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her family. Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald F. Laclair, in 1997; and a brother, Kenneth Powers. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, airstown, N.J. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, 7 Eisenhower Road, Blairstown, N.J.
