Veronica "Ronnie" Chatelle of Plattsburgh, passed away on February 12, 2023, in the UVM Medical Center in VT. with her loving family by her side. Ronnie was born in Churubusco, NY on July 27, 1932, the daughter of Edwin and Delia (LaClair) Powers.
After attending Chateaugay high school, she found her passion for waitressing and working with people and was the owner of Ron's corner restaurant from 1982 until her retirement in 2004. She loved her customers and formed many long lasting relationships with them. After retirement she enjoyed wintering with her husband Charles with their snowbird friends in Florida for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles (Chuck) Chatelle, her daughter JoAnn Pillitteri and husband Joe of Sarver PA., a son Joe Chatelle and wife Leann Rabideau of Plattsburgh, brother and sister in law John and Luella Powers and her sister in law Teresa Powers. She is survived by four grandchildren, Michael Pillitteri and his wife Kristen, Tyler Chatelle, Kelsey Chatelle, Sierra Gowette and two great grandchildren Knox and Milo Pillitteri also many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was per-deceased by her brother Kenneth Powers and sister Catherine (Donald) LaClair.
Ronnie's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She really enjoyed her morning coffee, reading the newspaper and watching the news. She had a really big heart, and we will all miss her so very much.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 2:30 - 4:30, and a funeral service will follow in the chapel.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Stroke Association, Fitzpatrick Cancer Center or the American Alzheimer's Foundation.
