Alston BAILEY was Justice of the Peace for Coweta County GA for 1858-1861. Ledger is in Vol 16, Issure 1, Fall 1996 of Coweta County Historical Society Quarterly.

Alston BAILEY served in the CSA in the 9th Georgia Infantry Regiment (State Guards). A. BAILEY held rank of 3rd Lieutenant.


From 1941 "Newnan Herald" ~
~ article by Mrs. Frank (Nellie) Byrom:
"Just below the Cox Crossroads on the Greenville and Fayette-road (now Luther Bailey Road) Mr. Austin Bailey settled. This is still a good production farm. Mr. Bailey was a school teacher and taught in a building on this place. My father went to school to him. He reared a large family and the place is still owned by his grandchildren."

Alston Bailey was a farmer, school teacher, Justice of the Peace and active church member, Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary and Elder at Bethel Methodist Church in the First District near Senoia, Georgia. Alston Bailey was number 71 on an early Bethel Church member list.
