James Wesley Bailey, 86, retired farmer who lived in the Modoc community, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday at a hospital in Terrell after an illness of about six months.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Modoc Church. Rev. Kermit Upshaw, pastor of the Church of Christ in Athens officiated. Interment was at the Modoc Cemetery. Hassell and Foster Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife; four sons, Neal of Winnsboro, Luther of Montalba, Clark of Texas City and George of Modoc; four daughters, Mrs. Nettie Johnson, Concord, Viola Rhodes of Union community, Mrs. Ruth Williams of Houston and Mrs. Emma Johnson of McAlister, Oklahoma.
