George, the son of Isaac S. and Elizabeth Wilen Faunce, was born on February 15, 1840, in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. George never married and lived with various family members. He was employed as a fisherman most of his adult life. On July 8, 1909, he was living with his sister's, Julia Ann Faunce Hill, family at 1116 E. Palmer Street in Philadelphia when he died at 4:30 AM from organic disease of the heart contributed by rheumatism. His death was certified by Doctor David W. Seoy of 1122 E Palmer Street. At the time of his death, he was employed as a machinist helper. After his funeral services at his sister's house, he was buried in the Palmer Grounds in the Kensington section of Philadelphia on July 11, 1909.
