Julia was born on October 9, 1845, in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. She is the daughter of Isaac S. and Elizabeth Wilen Faunce. Julia Ann Faunce married Charles W. Hill about 1866. After their marriage, they lived in Philadelphia where Charles worked as a fisherman. By 1880, they had moved to Greenwich, New Jersey. Charles still earned his living as a fisherman.
They moved to 1116 Palmer Street in Philadelphia before 1900. Charles was now working as a boat builder. Charles and Julia had seven children although I am only able to identify six; George F Hill, William Hill, Charles Hill, Annie M Hill, David Hill and Robert Logan Hill. On March 22, 1911, Julia Ann died of chronic nephritis diabetic and was buried in the Palmer Burial Grounds in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
