With regret we record the death of one of the most highly respected citizens of our community, Mr. Providence Harraman aged 77 years, 5 months, and 9 days. He was born Oct. the 1st, 1819, in the state of Ohio. He was married to Miss Barbara Luneack, a highly respected German lady, about the age of 21 years. Ten children were born to this union, four of whom are still living; two in the state of Indiana and two in Oklahoma. Mr. Harraman and wife were devout Christians, members of the Christian church for nearly 20 years before coming to Clarkson, Oklahoma, in the spring of 1890, where he united with the German Baptist church, better known here as the Dunkard Brethern church of which he was a member at the time of his death, March 10, 1897. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Appleman, Pastor in charge, Mr. Rotterman of Mulhall taking charge of the body. He was followed to the grave by his loving wife, two sons and their families and a countless number of sorrowing friends who are all in profound sympathy with the bereaved family, yet take comfort in the fact that their loss is his great gain. He was indeed a benefactor to the community in which he lived, always ready to help in time of need, financially and sympathetically. We extend heart felt sympathies to the bereaved ones, who loved one is gone.
