Verlie was born April 25, 1910 in Maud, Texas. She was the owner of Foster's Grocery; was a member of First Baptist Church, Maud, Texas, where she taught Sunday school for over forty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Foster and her parents, Willis and Martha Rachel.
