Mrs. Martha Ella Rachel
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ella Rachel, 73, of Maud, Texas, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Maud with the Rev. Alvin Robinson officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. T. Kirkindoll.

Burial will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery under the direction of the Texarkana Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rachel, who died at her home Wednesday after a long illness, was a native of Lawley, Ala. She moved to Maud 55 years ago and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maud.

She is survived by her husband, Willis B. Rachel of Maud; three daughters, Mrs. C. C. Hairston and Mrs. J. E. Foster of Maud and Mrs. F. O. Holder of Phillips, Texas; three sons, Norman Rachel of Maud; Leemon H. Rachel of New Boston, Texas, and Elton J. Rachel of Corpus Christi; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. David Merriman of New Boston; and seven brothers, Frank Fountain of Ft. Worth, Willis, Alvin and Rhaudie Fountain of New Boston, Seborn and Malcom Fountain of Texarkana and Herman Fountain of Houston.
Pallbearers will be Seborn Fountain, Willis Fountain, Alvin Fountain, Malcom Fountain, Ira Briggs and Horace King.

Honorary pallbearers will be other friends of the family.

The body will remain at the family residence at Maud until the hour of the funeral.
