WILLIS B. RACHEL

Willis B. Rachel of Maud, Texas, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday at his home after a long illness.

He was born May 13, 1884, at Maud and was a lifelong resident of Bowie County. Mr. Rachel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maud.

Survivors include three sons, Norman Rachel of Maud, Leemon H. Rachel of New Boston, Texas and E. J. Rachel of Corpus Christi, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. C. C. Hairston and Mrs. John Foster, both of Maud, and Mrs. F. O. Holder of Phillips, Texas, a brother, C. K. Rachel of Channelview, Texas; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Maud with the Rev. Alvin Robinson and the Rev. C. T. Kirkindoll officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery under the direction of the Texarkana Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Horace King, Van Rachel, Rotha Rachel, Chester Minton, Luther Fomby and Hugh Fomby. Honorary pallbearers will be other friends of the family.

The body was to be taken to the family residence at Maud at 4 p.m. Wednesday and remain there until the hour of the funeral.
