Jim was a life long peace officer, starting his public service at the Live Oak Police Dept. in Live Oak, CA., working his way up to Chief of Police. In later years he was a Detective for the Sutter Co., Sheriff's Dept. retiring in 1999.
Born in Braggs, Muskogee Co., OK. Jim was the son of Oswald Temple Davis and his wife, Leota Dudley Smithson. of
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, daughters, Tammy Adams of Idaho, Becky Lightle (Jim)of Oroville, 5 grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also suvived by his remaining siblings, Audine Melton and Joan Riggs of Oklahoma, Ruth Estes of Texas and Jerry Davis of Kingsburg, CA. He leaves many nieces and nephews.
