Luke's death, he started an electric shop with his son, Don, helping him until ill health forced him to sell to Don.
Inez worked for the Massena school lunch program for 19 years. Later she worked six years for the Dimig Drug Store in Atlantic, then another six years for the Methodist retirement home (Heritage House) in Atlantic until her retirement.
To this union were born three children: Donald Dean of Atlantic, who spent almost four years in the navy; Barbara Ann Karstens of Gallatin, Missouri, who worked several years in the clerk's office in Atlantic; and Lois Jane Krueger of Hancock, Iowa, who worked in Penney's Department Store in Atlantic a few years.
