Mrs. Sybil Hood Burdick, 90, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at her residence in Philadelphia, Ms. She was born in Crenshaw County, Ala. She worked for Andella Textiles in Andalusia, and Flowerwood Nurseries in Mobile, Ala., until she retired. She was Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest J. Burdick, and one Granddaughter, Patricia Ann Sims.
She is survived by a Son, Edward Jackson Burdick and his wife, Sue of Panama City, Fla., two daughters: Yvonne Wrightson of Palacios, Tx. and Armestine "Diane" Wilson and her husband R. C. Wilson of Philadelphia, Ms. Sisters: Mrs. Lou Jean Holladay of Brantley, Ala, and Mrs Sarah Helen Toomey of Grand Bay, Ala. Brothers: Sam Hood, Jr. of Grand Bay, Ala. and Zora Lee "BO" Hood of Old Fort, Tenn.; 6 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren; 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of John E. Stephens Funeral Chapel Funeral Services of Philadelphia, Ms. and internment was in Mobile
Memorial Gardens in Mobile, Ala.
