George worked in training and finishing at the Watch Factory in Springfield, IL for several years. In 1900, he moved to Waterbury, CT and worked as a clerk, then foreman, then Supt. at the Steele & Johnson Manufacturing, a so-called "brass shop". He married Josephine Killduf on 10 Jun 1901 in Waterbury. On 13 Apr 1915, he filed a patent assigned to the S&J Manufacturing Co. for an electric socket and shade holder. By 1918, he had removed to New York City and lived in the Bronx for a couple of years, still working for a manufacturing company, possibly S&J. By 1921, he was back in Waterbury, CT and in 1930 he was Supt of the S&J Manufacturing Co. in Waterbury. He and Joseph had no children.
