Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Margaret "Trix" Marcy Richardson went peacefully to be with her Lord Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born in Woodrow, Texas, June 17, 1918, to John and Minnie Marcy.

Trix graduated from Lubbock High School in 1935 and attended Texas Tech University. She married Gordon Eugene Richardson Nov. 12, 1937, and they were married for 66 years until he preceded her in death in May 2003. Trix was a member of the Wolfforth United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She also worked in retail and at Frenship Casey Elementary as a teacher's aide.

Trix was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Norma Ruth Richardson Smith; grandson, Daryl Wayne Smith; and by her seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by son, Johnny Richardson and wife Connie of Lubbock; daughter, Joveta Curry and husband Mike of Wolfforth; son-in-law, James Smith of Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, Michael Smith and wife Beth of Keller, Texas; granddaughters, Sheri Jobe and husband Shannon of Lubbock, and Kelly Kimble and husband James of Wolfforth; grandsons, Zane Richardson of Lubbock and Cale Richardson of Austin, Texas; great-grandsons, Dalton Smith of Lubbock, Ethan Robertson and Zachary Smith; and great-granddaughter, Caitlin Smith, all of Keller, Texas; and step-granddaughter, Amber Kennedy and husband, Jimmy, and son, Michael, of Wolfforth.

Trix was a devoted sports fan, enjoying watching the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Mavericks, and all the Texas Tech sports teams. She was very active in the Wolfforth Senior Citizens Center and had many close friends there with whom she played dominoes often. She will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held today, Feb. 2, 2012, at Resthaven Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to Wolfforth United Methodist Church.
