NICHOLS - G. Worth Norman, Sr., 70, the former mayor of Nichols, and owner and operator of Norman's Garage, died Thursday after a short illness.
Born in Marion County [present day Dillon County], he was a son of the late George F. and Ethel Lovin Norman.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah Elliott Norman; three sons, G. Worth Norman, Jr., James F. Norman and Joe C. Norman; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Lovette; three brothers, Arland Norman, Harvey A. Norman and Paul G. Norman; six sisters, Mrs. Roy Lee, Mrs. Evelyn Jones, Mrs. Althia Huggins, Mrs. Doris Tereman, Mrs. Martha Herman and Mrs. Billy Jean Miley; and 8 grandchildren.
