Obituary:
Clymer Dentist Succumbs at 82

Dr. Lewis E. Ackerson, 82, who had practiced dentistry in Clymer since 1907, died Saturday in his home, North Sixth street, Clymer. Active in civic affairs the deceased was an elder of the First Presbuterian Church of Clymer, was a former school director, and a member of the Loyal Woodsmen Order of the World.

Dr. Ackerson was born March 23 1867 in Penn Run. He practiced denistry her for seven years before removing to Clymer. (Full Obituary on Page 2)

DR. LEWIS E. ACKERSON passed away in his late home North 6th Street, Clymer, on Saturday, November 26. Born on the Ackerson farm in Cherryhill Township on March 23, 1867, he was the son of James P and Emma (Babour) Ackerson.

Dr. Ackerson attended school in Penn Run where he walso attended the Teachers School. After teaching for ten years, Dr. Ackerson attended the Western University of Pennsylvania, now known as the University of Pittsburgh, and was graduated with the class of 1899 which was the first class graduated in the School of Dentistry.

Dr. Ackerson started practicing dentistry in Penn Run and after seven years there, he moved to Clymer in 1907, where he has continuously practiced. In his earlier years in Clymer he was active in civic affiars and served for a long time as school director.

He was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Clymer and served as clerk of that body for 30 years. He was a member also, of the Loyal Order of Woodmen of the World.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, (Dixon) Ackerson, one son, Dale Ackerson, of Hookstown, one brother, Wesley Ackerson of Clymer. Also two grandchildren and one grandchild.

Friends are being received at his late home in Clymer, where servies will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Harold Huffman and the Reverend Clayton Straw officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
