IN 1810, his father was a Carriage and Coach Maker in Front Royal, Frederick, Virginia. By 1820, his family was living in the Western Division, Monongalia, Virginia (later West Virginia).
In 1849, he was married to Rebecca J. Stoops, who was literally the "girl next door." She was only 15 or 16 when they were married, which was not unusual for those days.
In 1850, the census lists him as a merchant, but by 1860, is is listed as a carpenter which he continues until 1880, when he is a farmer.
Simon and Rebecca had five children, James S Boyers b.1852, Laura Boyers, b.1856, Luther M Boyers b.1859, Simon Boyers b.1862,and Hugh Boyers b.1874.
Simon Lauck Boyers died 24 Feb 1908 in Jimtown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.
