Hyrcanus Jefferson Boyers was born 3 Mar 1813 in Winchester, Frederick, Virginia to Jacob Boyers and Elizabeth Lauck Boyers. He was in the middle of a family of 13 children.
By 1820, his family had moved to Monongalia, Virginia (later West Virginia).
On Nov 29, 1837 he married Martha Jane Myerle. They had eight daughters and four sons.
Hyrcanus was a farmer and lived the rest of his life in West Virginia.
He passed away on 10 Apr 1885. He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown, West Virginia along with many other family members, including his parents.
