The son of the late Cecil G. and Marcella Imogene (Dant) Scott, he was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Beech Grove, Ind. His wife, Dorie Ann (Young) Scott, whom he married Sept. 25, 1995, survives.
Scott previously worked for Twigg Corporation in Martinsville and Nice Pak in Mooresville.
He attended Morgantown High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.
He enjoyed music and meeting with friends at Burger King Restaurant in Martinsville.
Other survivors include three step daughters, Angel McCartney, Martinsville; Belinda Stinson, Sevierville, Tenn., and Sherri Porter, Peru, Ind.; a step son, Rob Helms, Martinsville; three brothers, Larry Scott, Brownsburg; Mark Scott, Martinsville, and Steve Scott, Greenwood; a sister, Beverly Goodson, Mooresville; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Charles Scott, also preceded him in death.
