EVANSVILLE - J. Franklin Bradley, age 78, of Evansville, died Tues., Oct 6, 1992, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville. He was born April 25, 1914, the son of Joseph F. and Jeannette (Holloway) Bradley. He graduated from Racine County School of Agriculture in 1932 and the University of Wisconsin in 1937 with a BS in animal husbandry. He was a member of UW Alumni and Letterman Club. He married Ardith Hurley on Dec. 23, 1939, in Madison, WI. They farmed in Somers, WI, and Edgerton, WI, for 3 years before coming to the Evansville area in 1949 where they continued dairy farming until retiring. His wife, Ardith preceded him in death July 14, 1981. Franklin married Helen Toigo on Feb. 27, 1982; she died Aug. 18, 1989. On March 23, 1991, he married Mary DesRochers. He was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ where he served as Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Moderator and currently as Trustee. As a community leader he was active in 4-H, 5-H, Rotary International and Janesville Rotary Club. He helped start Southern Wisconsin Breeders in the 1950's and was a board member of Tri County Breeders for many years. He was named Wisconsin Master Farmer in 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Evansville; 1 son, Joe (Bobbie) of Evansville; 2 daughters, Candy Durdin of Plymouth, WI, and Kathy (Jim) Rutledge of Stillwater, OK; 10 grandchildren; six step-children; 15 step-grandchildren; and his brother, Morris (Phyllis) of Hebron, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elinor Biddick.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Fri., Oct. 9, at Evansville Congregational United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Somers, WI.
