TREMONT - Richard Taft "R.T." Hamner, 93, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at his home. He was born April 17, 1909, to the late Robert and Rebecca Williams Hamner. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and a Baptist.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wesley Kingsley officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Linnie Martha Hamner of Tremont; four daughters, Dorothy Zentraf of Manhattan, Ill., Shirley Smith of Brookhaven, Rebecca McFadden of Hamilton, Ala., and Joyce Roberson of Tremont; a son, Richard "Sam" Hamner of Hamilton, Ala.; two sisters, Elua Hunter of Tupelo and Frances McMullen of Nesbit; a brother, F.H. Hamner of Saltillo; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Holland, Ricky Holland, Ronnie Spence, Randy Roberson, Timothy Hamner, Justin Spencer and Branden Roberson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 7:30 a.m. to service time Friday.
