Mary Lois Peel Day, 74, the widow of Henry Day, died Friday, May 27.
She was born July 11, 1930, to the late Luther and Virgie Sanders Peel. She was a member of Elm Fork Christian Church.
Survivors are four sons and their wives, Jerry and Jean, Frankie and Lynn, Donald Sr. and Wanda and Ricky Dale Day of Nicholasville; nine grandchildren, Jeanie Day Beazley, Sherrie Day Doty, George Wesley, David Wayne, Donald II, Tony, Megan, R.D. and Amber Day; nine great-grandchildren, Geri Brumfield, Halee and Christian Beazley, Caitlyn Doty, Chandler, Alax, Tony Allen, Maria and Donald Gene "Trey" Day III, two sisters, Margie Stinnet and Ethel Turner, three brothers, Billy, Rankin, and Bobby Peel and other family members.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Harrison officiating and burial followed at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Bearers were Sherrie Day Doty, Megan, Donald II, Tony, R.D., David and George Wesley Day and Jamie Beazley. Honorary bearers were Billy, Rankin, and Bobby Peel, Gary Stinnett, Judy, David and Jeff Peel, Melissa Estes, Margie Stinnett, Ethel Turner and Danny Peel.
